David Hockney

David Hockney, OM, CH, RA (b.1937) is a British painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. 

Hockney was a notable contributor to the pop art movement in Britain both in its foundation and growth. Over the years, Hockney has experimented with various different media - painting, drawing, printmaking, watercolours and photography, also creating works using a fax machine, paper pulp, and computer and iPad drawing programmes.

His subject matter ranges from still lifes to landscapes, portraits of friends, his dogs, and stage designs for the Royal Court Theatre, the Metropolitan Opera in New York City and Glyndebourne.
