Royal Sussex Trug

Handmade in the Sussex, this lightweight trug is made of overlapping willow boards secured to a chestnut frame.

Once the Trug is made, the legs are nailed on to the bottom and the Trug is then ready to go for the final quality inspection before being signed by the craftsman, stamped and given a unique reference number on the bottom before being despatched.

NOTE: Each Sussex Trug has a number underneath which denotes the year/month/day the Trug was finished. There will also be some initials which are the maker’s signature. 

Care instructions:

To help the longevity of a Sussex Trug: 1) do not leave it out in all weathers 2) do not leave wet rubbish in it for any length of time 3) do not leave it in a greenhouse as the hot sun will bake the wood and make it brittle.
