John Christie specifically constructed an Organ Room in his home at Glyndebourne one hundred years ago, and it was here that the first hired opera singers performed. The stunning design on the Organ Room ceiling is now the motif of the Glyndebourne Shop, and is accompanied by the colour orange representing the brick of the new opera house auditorium.
