About The Artist

Michele Fletcher

Michele Fletcher (b.1963) is a painter. Informed by her observations of the natural world, her paintings explore visual memory using both abstract and familiar forms. Fletcher studied Fine Art and Critical Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London, before undertaking an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art. She has exhibited internationally, with solo shows at Sarah Myerscough Fine Art (2007 & 2008), Royal Over-Seas League, London (2010) and New Court Gallery, Repton (2012) and selected group shows, including the Royal Academy Summer Show (2019 & 2010), APT Gallery, London (2019 & 2018), The Other Art Fair, New York (2017) and Freud Museum (2011). Fletcher has won a number of awards, including the Fringe MK Painting Prize (2010) and the Marmite Painting Prize (2006). Her work is widely collected and represented in many public collections, including University of the Arts, Ernest & Young, Groucho Club and St Bartholomew Hospital Trust. Originally from Canada, Fletcher now lives and works in London.
